A chance introduction in Bute Inlet piqued Fia's interest in working with metal. After completing three years of studies in welding, blacksmithing and bronze casting at Kootenay School of the Arts she worked for the next decade with various sculptors and fabricators. 'Savage' is her studio where she divides her time between custom steel fabrication and an exploration of metal working techniques and finishes.
