The graphic on the front is a microscopic image of dopamine, the neurotransmitter associated with motivational salience. On the back is copper chloride, a chemical compound with industrial uses ranging from metallurgy to agriculture and photography to wood preservation.
These colorful earrings are lightweight and easy to wear. The central microscopic graphic is printed on a 1/16” polymer backing. This graphic changes from front to back, revealing a pop of color as the earring dangles from the earlobe. A resin coating on both sides deepens the color and mimics the polished surface of the adjacent stones.
